USDA/FAS GAIN report SG 9010
Report highlights:
This report is an update of
report SG9006 released in May. This report includes
information on newly announced seed cotton prices and input
subsidies for the 2009/10 season. In an effort to
reinvigorate the ailing cotton sector, governments across
the region announced initiatives and commitments to
subsidize inputs. While final production estimates for the
2008/09 campaign are reported for most countries, the status
of exports remains unclear amid a number of export contract
disputes.
