The U.S. Department of
Agriculture’s Animal and
Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is advising the
public that it has made changes to the area in the state of
Idaho that is quarantined to prevent the spread of potato cyst
nematode. The description of the quarantined area was updated on
Dec. 9, 2008, when 20 fields were removed, and on Jan. 14, 2009,
when 17 additional fields were removed. The fields removed from
quarantine were in Bingham, Bonneville and Jefferson counties.
These actions removed a total of 3,329 acres from quarantine.
