Bayer CropScience
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the
Chinese
Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) on agricultural
research for joint development and global marketing of
agricultural products. CAAS and Bayer will initiate joint
projects using the latest technologies in the areas of plant
breeding, genetics, genomics and seed production. With this,
Bayer CropScience strengthens its successful cooperation with
CAAS and its institutes in agricultural research and enforces
the company’s commitment to expand its agriculture related
business in China. The MoU was signed in Ghent, Belgium,
following a Cooperation Summit of Bayer CropScience and CAAS
earlier this year.
"By combining both parties' strengths, CAAS and Bayer
CropScience will jointly develop advanced technologies, that
will improve farming productivity and enhance the quality of
agriculture produce", said Dr.
Joachim Schneider, Head of the BioScience Business Unit at Bayer
CropScience. "With this cooperation, we will further expand our
seeds and traits business in China in accordance with the long
term plan for sustainable development of Chinese agriculture".

Strategische Partnerschaft zum Ausbau des Saatgut- und
Traitsgeschäfts
Bayer CropScience hat mit der Chinese Academy of Agricultural
Sciences (CAAS) eine Vereinbarung zur gemeinsamen Entwicklung
und weltweiten Vermarktung von Agrarprodukten unterzeichnet.
Die CAAS und Bayer CropScience wollen Gemeinschaftsprojekte
initiieren, und zwar unter Einsatz der neuesten Technologien in
den Bereichen Pflanzenzucht, Genetik, Genomik und
Saatgutproduktion. Damit stärkt Bayer CropScience seine
erfolgreiche Kooperation mit der Akademie sowie ihren Instituten
in der Agrarforschung und und verleiht dem Engagement des
Unternehmens Nachdruck, sein Agrargeschäft in China auszuweiten.
Die Kooperationsvereinbarung wurde im belgischen Gent in
Anknüpfung an eine früher im Jahr gemeinsam durchgeführte
Konferenz unterzeichnet.

chinesische Akademie für Agrarwissenschaften und Bayer
CropScience gemeinsam fortschrittliche Technologien entwickeln
können, die die landwirtschaftliche Produktivität erhöhen und
die Qualität von Agrarprodukten weiter verbessern", sagte Dr.
Joachim Schneider, Leiter des Geschäftsbereichs BioScience bei
Bayer CropScience. "Mit dieser Kooperation erweitern wir unser
Saatgut- und Traitsgeschäft in China - im Einklang mit dem
langfristigen Plan für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung der
chinesischen Landwirtschaft."
