Curry customers will see broader product lineup and more traits

Curry Seed Company and Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, have reached an agreement regarding the purchase of the "Curry Seed" brand name. The terms were not disclosed.
 
This transaction will greatly expand Curry Seed corn trait offerings. In addition, Curry Seed will be introducing the first complete soybean lineup in its 73-year history.

"Curry Seed customers will have a wider selection of new corn and soybean varieties," according to David Curry, president of Curry Seed Company. "This new association with Pioneer will allow for the expansion of Curry customer services with the addition of strengthening our regional seed research capabilities. Curry customers will have these added benefits in time for the 2009 planting season."

The Curry Seed brand will continue to be managed locally from Elk Point. Exclusive Curry Seed regionally tested products will be available only from Curry Seed salespeople.

"Through this agreement with Curry Seed, Pioneer can expand markets for its germplasm with unique products not available as a Pioneer® brand product," said Bart Baudler, Pioneer director, Out-licensing and Distribution. "We are excited to continue the strong tradition of the Curry Seed brand while increasing choices for Curry customers."
