“Growing Perspectives” launched on Pioneer GrowingPoint website - Forum offers ideas, information exchange between growers

.

Des Moines, Iowa
May 4, 2007

A new feature on the Pioneer GrowingPoint® website offers growers a chance to review tips and suggestions from their fellow farmers. “Growing Perspective” serves as a forum for Pioneer customers and growers to read helpful hints and insights from their peers.

“Growing Perspective” showcases knowledge from Kip Cullers, Purdy, Mo., the 2006 world record holder for soybean production. Users who log on to the GrowingPoint website will find a section to submit questions to Cullers. He will answer the most popular inquiries and post the responses on the site on a regular basis throughout the growing season. This section also includes a video on Cullers; pictures show Cullers’ management practices.

Additionally, Eric Luhring, Dike, Iowa, and Brian Schaumberg, Chenoa, Ill., provide insight to crop management for corn after corn. Both Luhring and Schaumberg hail from areas where corn acres are expanding from the traditional “50/50” corn-soybean rotation and will offer insights on this approach to fellow growers. The corn-after-corn section features topics such as pre-planting, management practices, scouting tips and more.
“We see ‘Growing Perspective’ as a great forum for growers to learn more about what their peers are doing, in their own areas and states, as well as in other areas of the Corn Belt,” says Jeff Talmadge, e-business coordinator, Pioneer. “This information, partnered with other timely topics featured on GrowingPoint, allows Web users and Pioneer to connect in order to provide information and helpful tips for soybean and corn growers.”
Future additions to the “Growing Perspective” section include suggestions and insights from a Pioneer forage producer.

Users can access this new forum by logging on to the site at www.pioneer.com/growingpoint, typing “forum” in the search box, then clicking the “Growing Perspective” link. New users will need to register on the site to obtain a username and password to access the site, or they can call 1-800-233-7333 for assistance. Additional soybean and corn-after-corn information also is available from your local Pioneer sales representative.
