Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., has announced a new
online recordkeeping system growers can access through the
Pioneer
GrowingPoint® website, designed to help them manage and
track operations at a field level and improve their operations’
overall productivity.
This recordkeeping tool, which is available as a complimentary
service to Pioneer customers, gives operators the ability to go
online and organize information on their farms and fields, enter
operational records at a field level (applications, planting,
harvesting, etc.) and generate activity reports, including
field-operation summaries and restricted-use pesticide reports
for compliance.
“With this GrowingPoint website management system, customers can
develop field-level plans, then track their operations, crop
progress and performance by field in one convenient location,”
says Jeff Talmadge, Pioneer e-business coordinator. “The program
was designed with the farmer in mind, focusing on operator input
and critical information growers need to log for their records.”
Specifically, the recordkeeping program has areas for
field-by-field planning ahead of the crop season, year-over-year
production records (applications, planting records, etc.),
hybrid growth and weather tracking by field (accumulated Growing
Degree Units and precipitation), reporting for restricted-use
pesticides and more.
Pioneer customers can log in to this new system by visiting
the GrowingPoint
website, clicking on the “My Farm & Accounts” tab,
and then clicking the link under “My Farms & Fields”.
Additionally, those customers who have already utilized the
Pioneer FITSM yield mapping system in 2006 will have their field
maps and field names loaded into the new system for their
convenience. Together, FIT mapping and recordkeeping comprise
two of the many tools Pioneer is using to help farm operators
improve their productivity in every acre.
“This is only the beginning,” Talmadge adds. “Additional system
tools are already being developed, such as basic financial
records and simplified online mapping options. We are excited to
keep adding new features to help make this tool a valuable
productivity resource for our customers.”
Customers can be assured that the information they store is
secure. The site requires two levels of security to get into
personal information. In addition, participants have the choice
of opting in or out of sharing information with the Pioneer
sales team. The website operates under strict guidelines from
the DuPont global privacy policy.
Users will need to activate their accounts with a one-time PIN
(personal identification number) in order to access the
recordkeeping system. For those users who have not activated
their accounts or who want a sneak preview to see the
capabilities of the new system, log on to the site and type
“recordkeeping” in the search box.
The GrowingPoint recordkeeping system is not yet available in
Canada.
For further assistance or questions, customers may call
1-800-233-7333. No additional hardware or software is required
to use the recordkeeping system, and it is available to Pioneer
customers at no charge.
