Discover® NG herbicide, the convenient, all-in-one grass herbicide developed by Syngenta Crop Protection, may now be used under Section 24(c) Special Local Needs (SLN) provisions of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The 24(c) registrations allow use on spring wheat, winter wheat and durum in the states of Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.

This easy-to-use formulation combines clodinafop, the active ingredient in Discover; a safener; and an adjuvant into a single solution. Discover NG is currently being used under EPA Section 3 registration by wheat growers in the Northern Plains.

“Growers in the Pacific Northwest will benefit greatly by having Discover NG available to them in time for the 2007 growing season. The new formulation will make for greater ease of use as the adjuvant has already been included with the product so there are fewer packages to load in the tank. And, the 50-plus broadleaf herbicide tankmix partners will allow for more efficient, one-pass weed control, saving both time and money,” said Shawn Potter, herbicide brand manager for Syngenta Crop Protection.

Discover NG provides excellent control of damaging grass weeds, including wild oat, while having the widest range of broadleaf herbicide tankmix options. It provides excellent crop safety in spring wheat, winter wheat and durum and can be applied from the two-leaf to pre-boot stage without damaging the crop.
