Pioneer Hi-Bred now offers integrated FIT, online recordkeeping systems

.

Des Moines, Iowa
August 21, 2007

This season, Pioneer Hi-Bred will again offer to its customers the Pioneer FITSM (Field Information Tool) mapping system, now integrated with the Pioneer GrowingPoint® website* online recordkeeping system. These innovations can help growers make better management decisions and do a better job of managing their important crop records using a simple and secure online system. These services are available at no charge, another benefit of being a Pioneer customer.

The Pioneer FIT mapping system provides growers a harvest summary report including high-quality yield maps for each field with soil type overlays, a farm overview map including a high-resolution aerial image, and a tabular harvest report showing yield statistics for each field.

Customers receive this package about two weeks following harvest after Pioneer sales representatives copy data from growers' yield monitors. Growers value getting this information quickly to help them make input decisions for the next season.

FIT mapping seamlessly integrates with the Pioneer GrowingPoint website recordkeeping system. The farm-field structure from the yield monitor pre-populates the online recordkeeping system, making it very easy for growers to make the transition from traditional pocket seed books to a secure, accessible online state-of-the-art system. Growers can very easily keep crop field records and track growth stages on their online maps. Growers can also access their yield maps through the GrowingPoint website.

"The quality of these maps is outstanding," says Warren Richardson, Pioneer technical applications manager. "Yield maps are overlayed with the soil type. The maps include yield-by-soil-type on the report."

"Pioneer sales professionals can also help calibrate growers' yield monitors, so they can be sure the yield map information they collect is accurate," says Doug Houser, Pioneer technical applications manager.

"Future advancements include a harvest date feature that will estimate when each field will be ready for harvest, as well as online mapping tools that allow growers to plan which hybrids they want to plant in each field," says Houser.

To participate in the FIT yield mapping program, growers need a combine equipped with a yield mapping system - a yield monitor equipped with a GPS receiver.

The Pioneer FIT mapping system is available to most Pioneer customers in the United States and Canada. To access data from the GrowingPoint website, growers need a PIN number and, if they do not have one, should contact their Pioneer sales professional.
