New and advanced technology traits
dominate the NC+ Hybrids
2008 corn and soybean product line-up, with 29 triple-stack corn
products, including 17 new YieldGard VT TripleTM corn products
and 11 new soybean products.
"It's all about seed speed today," says Doug Gloystein, NC+
operations manager. "The NC+ 2008 corn and soybean products are
about getting improved genetics with advanced technology traits
into grower hands as early as possible so they can continue to
generate even greater yields and an even better bottom line from
one year to the next."
YieldGard VecTran™ stacked traits
Gloystein says NC+'s new YieldGard VT stacked traits were
developed through the use of advanced VecTranTM technology,
which is a more precise gene-insertion process for producing
products that deliver significantly enhanced stacked-trait
performance.
The 17 new YieldGard VT corn products include: NC+ 1207VT3, NC+
1557VT3, NC+ 1775VT3, NC+ 1887VT3, NC+ 2174VT3, NC+ 2227VT3, NC+
3557VT3, NC+ 3613VT3, NC+ 3758VT3, NC+ 3932VT3, NC+ 4252VT3, NC+
4777VT3, NC+ 5225VT3, NC+ 5357VT3, NC+ 5393VT3, NC+ 5403VT3, and
NC+ 5453VT3.
Additional NC+ corn products include these YieldGard Plus
stacked with Roundup Ready® Corn 2 options: NC+ 1331RBD, NC+
1994RBD, NC+ 2172RBD, NC+ 2194RBD, NC+ 3432RBD, NC+ 4424RBD, NC+
4447RBD, NC+ 4948RBD, NC+ 5223RBD, NC+ 5329RBD, NC+ 5434RBD, and
NC+ 6125RBD.
"The triple-duty performance of these specially developed corn
products allows growers to take full advantage of everything
Roundup Ready delivers, without losing ground to corn borers and
corn rootworm," says Gloystein.
New NC+ offerings include Vistive™ soybeans
NC+ is offering 11 new soybean products for 2008, including
several new Vistive soybean products.
Vistive soybeans produce low-linolenic oil, which is attractive
to food companies as a substitute for oils that contain
unhealthy trans fat. Growers have garnered premiums up to 65
cents per bushel for the Vistive soybeans.
NC+ Vistive products include: NC+ 2V21RR, NC+ 2V41RR, NC+
2V71RR, NC+ 3V01RR, NC+ 3V11RR, and NC+3V51RR.
"The Vistive soybeans available from NC+ contain the Roundup
Ready trait, which provides growers with unsurpassed weed
control, outstanding crop safety and a smart way to manage
around the weather," Gloystein says. "It's a win-win for
growers, food processors and consumers."
Additional new soybean product offerings for 2008 include NC+
1A51RR, NC+ 2A35RR, NC+ 2V41RR, NC+ 2A46RR, NC+ 2A54RR, NC+
2A95RR, NC+ 3A14RR, NC+ 3A54RR, NC+ 3A62RR, and NC+ 3A93RR. All
of the soybeans contain the Roundup Ready trait.
Alfalfa, sorghum offerings
A new alfalfa hybrid for 2007 is Hybri+ 632, a
high-forage-yielding, semi-dormant hybrid alfalfa that is winter
hardy and fast growing. Hybri+ 632 has excellent relative feed
quality and features strong resistance to insects and nematodes.
NC+ continues to offer several excellent lines of grain sorghum,
forage sorghum and sudans.
