Quadris
Ridomil Gold® fungicide has received federal approval from
the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) for use on potatoes. This new
addition to Syngenta’s
fungicide portfolio provides growers with a new,
user-friendly twin pack of Quadris® and Ridomil Gold® for
soil application in potatoes.
With
Quadris Ridomil Gold growers receive the benefits of two
proven products to protect against all four major classes of
fungi and control soil borne disease and storage rots. A
single application provides broad-spectrum control of pink
rot, Pythium leak, black scurf (Rhizoctonia) and silver
scurf.
A
combination of systemic fungicides, Quadris Ridomil Gold is
taken up by plant roots and moves into the plant thereby
preventing disease infection before it starts. Quadris,
containing the active ingredient azoxystrobin, is a
broad-spectrum systemic fungicide providing activity against
Rhizoctonia and silver scurf. Ridomil Gold, a systemic
fungicide containing the active ingredient mefenoxam,
provides protection against Pythium seedling diseases plus
sensitive strains of the storage and tuber diseases Pythium
leak and pink rot.
“Growers
have been incorporating Quadris and Ridomil Gold into their
disease management programs for years,” commented David
Laird, Syngenta Crop Protection fungicide brand manager.
“With Quadris Ridomil Gold, growers get the same great
performance they’ve come to expect in a more convenient
package and at an even better value.”
An
at-planting application of Quadris Ridomil Gold replaces a
2-spray foliar program for storage rot control with a single
application. This up-front application reduces concerns
over weather delays later in the season where application
timing may be a critical factor and adversely affected by
weather delays.
