Monsanto Canada appoints Sean Gardner vice-president and general manager
Winnipeg, Manitoba

Monsanto Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Gardner to the position of vice-president and general manager of its Canadian business operations.

Mr. Gardner will be responsible for leading Monsanto's Canadian business operations. He will also sit on Monsanto Company's North American leadership team and will continue to play a coordinating role with the company's product management group based in St. Louis in order to reinforce the long-term strategic importance of canola to the overall Canadian business.

Mr. Gardner has resided in Winnipeg since 2005 where he has served as Monsanto Canada's trait and seed commercial lead for Western Canada. He previously served as Monsanto's country lead for the Mediterranean area, comprised of Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Mr. Gardner joined Monsanto as part of the PBI Cambridge acquisition in 1998 and has worked as a Roundup marketing manager in St. Louis; a business team lead for Western Kansas and Colorado; and as Roundup product director for Europe-Africa. Prior to joining Monsanto Company, Mr. Gardner held various roles in Unilever.
