BASF Canada granted two additional label registrations for the use of Distinct herbicide in field corn
Toronto, Canada
September 28, 2005

Control of tall waterhemp and field horsetail in field corn now on label

BASF Canada has been granted two new label registrations for the use of DISTINCT herbicide in field corn - one for control of tall waterhemp and one for control of field horsetail. For control of tall waterhemp, DISTINCT should be applied post-emergent at the 2 to 6 corn leaf stage. DISTINCT, as a registered tank-mix with Ultim(R) 75% DF, is also now available to control field horsetail, in addition to many other grassy weeds, and should be applied as a single post-emergent application at the 2 to 6 corn leaf or weed stage.

"These new registrations offer growers the added benefit of controlling some tough to manage weeds," said Ron Taylor, Market and Business Development Manager for BASF in eastern Canada. "Effective weed management is a critical issue for corn growers and we are committed to providing growers with solutions to address the practical challenges they face in the field."

DISTINCT is a selective post-emergent herbicide used to control annual broadleaf weeds in field corn. It provides growers with excellent crop safety together with powerful weed control for early or late post-emergent
applications. DISTINCT can be applied alone for control of many broadleaf weeds or as part of approved tank-mixes with either Option(R), Accent(R) 75 DF or Ultim(R) 75% DF for a wider spectrum of weed control including many grassy weeds.

Always read and follow all label directions.
