Plant Health training from The Central Science Laboratory (CSL, an agency of DEFRA), York (UK)

The Central Science Laboratory (CSL, an agency of DEFRA) in York (UK) is organizing training courses for scientists, technicians, inspectors and diagnosticians. These courses are run by internationally recognized experts
and combine lectures with laboratory sessions. In November 2004, 2 specialist courses will take place at CSL, York:

Phytophthora ramorum (15-17 Nov 2004)
For those involved in diagnosing and managing this disease, the course will focus on: detection and identification, latest news and information, lecture and laboratory sessions.

Applied virology (22-26 Nov 2004)
The course will focus on: detection, diagnosis, characterization, epidemiology, control and viral infection risk management. Practical sessions and lectures will be complemented by open forums to allow thorough discussion of the information with CSL's virology specialists.
