Internet offers Pioneer customers access to personal account information

It’s as easy as logging on to Pioneer GrowingPointSM website and entering a personal identification number

Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., customers can conveniently and securely view account balances and Deferred Payment loan information, as well as electronically sign important paperwork, by logging on to the Pioneer GrowingPointSM website at www.pioneer.com/growingpoint.

“Customers can view their personal account information 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” says Jeff Talmadge, e-business coordinator for Pioneer. “This is a real convenience for them and just another way that Pioneer provides additional value to our customers.”

Once customers have activated their accounts, they will be able to view current account information, retrieve Deferred Payment loan details, pay Deferred Payment balances electronically and access special account features.

According to Talmadge, this service takes the complexity out of understanding account statements. Customers are able to see their purchases listed by season, year and account balance. In addition, an account activity page offers details of the number of units purchased plus hybrid and variety numbers, along with any changes, discounts or adjustments made to the order.

Deferred Payment and online contract signing

With the ability to view Deferred Payment loan information, customers can check their current balance due, principal balance, last payment made and current interest rate. In addition, customers can see all transactions related to their loans, including Pioneer product purchases, chemical purchases, loan payments and product returns. Each transaction affecting the Deferred Payment loan will show up as a line item to help customers better understand how they arrived at their current principal balance. As an added convenience, Deferred Payment customers can pay their Deferred Payment balances electronically or print a payment coupon.

In addition, Technology Agreements (TA) and Grain Marketing Communications Plans (GMCP) are available online for Pioneer customers to sign electronically. Growers who purchase seed with biotech traits are required to sign TAs, agreeing to adhere to stewardship guidelines and other requirements. GMCPs must be signed by growers who purchase grain not yet approved for import into all overseas markets, showing they understand the grain marketing options.

Gaining access to personal account information

Talmadge points out that all a customer needs is a username and password to register on GrowingPoint website and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access personal account information, any time of day.

“New GrowingPoint website users can call 800-233-7333 or contact their local Pioneer sales representative to receive their username and password,” says Talmadge. “Once registered on the site, new users will be sent their PIN by mail. Existing GrowingPoint website users who have misplaced their PINs can call 800-233-7333 for assistance.”

PINs will be sent by postal mail for security purposes. The PIN protects each customer’s personal data, along with the username and password given to gain access to GrowingPoint website. This is just one extra step Pioneer takes to assure that each customer’s information remains private. For convenience, once the PIN is entered into the computer, the customer will not have to enter it again.
