Syngenta introduces its first seed-delivered fungicide for peanuts - Dynasty PD will set a new standard for helping deliver enhanced plant vigor and yield

With the introduction of Dynasty® PD from Syngenta Crop Protection, peanut growers now have a new tool for combating yield-robbing diseases. Seed-delivered Dynasty PD combines three proven fungicides in one convenient product, offering a broad range of disease protection against seed-borne and soil seedling diseases.

A combination of the active ingredients azoxystrobin, fludioxonil and mefenoxam, Dynasty PD offers unique systemic and contact protection against a broad spectrum of seed-borne and soil-borne diseases in peanuts, including Rhizoctonia, Pythium, Aspergillus niger, seed-borne Cylindrocladium black rot (CBR), and suppression of white mold and tomato spotted wilt virus (via increased plant stands). Dynasty PD provides three complementary modes of action to deliver enhanced disease protection against all primary early-season diseases in peanuts.

“We are excited to be offering growers a new choice for their foundation disease control product in peanuts,” said Steve Russell, Syngenta Seed Treatment crop manager. “Dynasty PD offers superior protection against all the major early-season, yield-robbing peanut seedling diseases, resulting in consistent increases in plant stands, improved plant vigor and the opportunity for enhanced yield potential. Its disease protection compares to the level delivered by in-furrow fungicides.”

Pat Phipps, professor of plant pathology at Virginia Tech University, stresses the importance of getting a good start to the season. “A seed treatment is the first line of defense. A strong, uniform stand sets the stage for achieving full yield potential, which is a goal for all producers. Dynasty PD is the only fungicide treatment that consistently performs at the same level or better than the current standard.”

Because Dynasty PD is delivered on the seed, it also offers the additional benefit of convenience. Dynasty PD is comprised of three compounds, all registered by the EPA under its reduced risk program, and is commercially applied at a low use rate, offering an excellent worker and environmental profile. Dynasty PD-treated seed can be ordered through your local crop protection or seed supplier.

For optimal season-long disease protection, Dynasty PD is compatible with foliar spray programs including Abound®, Tilt/Bravo® and Bravo® fungicides. For more information on Dynasty PD, contact your local Syngenta Crop Protection or Seed Treatment representative, or ask your local seed dealer.
