Timely, local agronomy reports and journals of producers from around the world, latest offerings on the Pioneer GrowingPointSM website.

Whether you’re looking for details on a grower’s view of production issues from around the world or which insects to scout for, both are as close as your PC and the Pioneer GrowingPointSM website.

The newest offering on the GrowingPoint website, Following Growers From Around the Globe, reports the crop production activities of selected growers from the northern and southern hemispheres.  The information provides access to elite producers’ management practices as well as market and weather challenges they face during crop development.  In essence, this special feature allows all GrowingPoint website users to meet farmers from around the world.

Inside look at world production practices helps U.S. producers

“Pioneer is offering this feature to enable growers to learn about market and weather challenges experienced by growers around the world, as well as to help them garner management and marketing tips,” explains Jeff Talmadge, Pioneer e-business communications coordinator.  “Producers are interested in learning about agriculture in other countries, and this site can facilitate that.”

Following Growers Around the Globe consists of three sections.

· A profile of agriculture in the specific country featured, containing a quick overview and farming facts.

· A profile of the specific grower in each country and an overview of his operation, such as the crops grown.

· Journal entries from the participating growers detailing how the year is progressing, management challenges, environmental and market pressures.

Following Growers Around the Globe currently features producers from the United States, Canada, Argentina and Brazil.  The journal of a producer from Poland will be added soon.  The site is updated regularly with new information as it arrives from the growers.  This feature is accessible to both registered Pioneer customers and non-customers.

Timely agronomists’ reports now available

A management tool closer to home and exclusively from Pioneer offers growers instant agronomy reports in the form of an Internet-published newsletter, Scanning Your Fields®.  Available regularly throughout the growing season, the report helps producers keep ahead of pests, diseases and other crop production issues.

The e-publication is a brief report of timely insect, weed, crop disease and other agronomic issues impacting crops in your neighborhood, along with suggested management tips and Web links for more details on specific issues. This agronomic column is written by local Pioneer agronomists and is available on the GrowingPoint website only to Pioneer customers.

Scanning Your Fields is a ‘heads up’ on what’s happening this week, describing what the local Pioneer agronomists see in the communities they serve,” Talmadge explains. “It is an online agronomic tool that helps producers with their crop management issues.”
