Growers viewing the Scanning
Your Fields® e-publication from
Pioneer Hi-Bred International,
Inc., boost their chances of a prize-winning season each
time they click to read the newsletter. Not only will they
receive the latest agronomic information to help them better
manage their crops; they’ll have an opportunity to win a desktop
computer and a visit from the president of Pioneer.
Every time
growers click to read Scanning Your Fields e-newsletter
on the Pioneer GrowingPointSM website between now and
Aug. 10, 2004, they will be registered to win one of 101 prizes.
Eligible Pioneer customers can win one of three grand-prize Dell1
desktop computers, presented to the winners at their farm by
Pioneer President Dean Oestreich. Other prizes include desktop
weather radios, Cabela’s gift certificates and Schrade
pocketknives.
Scanning Your Fields e-pub is
available only to Pioneer customers and provides the latest
online local crop production reports from Pioneer agronomists.
The e-newsletter is updated regularly throughout the
growing season and gives producers a heads-up to local disease
and pest pressures, as well as advice on seasonal issues
impacting crops in their areas.
“GrowingPoint
website and the Scanning Your Fields e-pub provide
value-added information to our customers,” says Jeff Talmadge,
e-business communications coordinator at Pioneer. “The
information allows our customers to make quicker decisions and
achieve greater successes.”
Pioneer
launched the GrowingPoint website in 2001 as a way to provide
growers with instant access to information they can use to
improve business productivity. Today, more than 50,000
registered users visit the site for weather, market and product
information. Advanced features include production decision
tools, product performance data, agronomic information and
marketing advice. Registered users also can connect directly
with their hometown Pioneer representative.
“The
Scanning Your Fields e-pub online contest is a way to
encourage Pioneer growers to take advantage of the unique
resources available to them,” says Talmadge.
Contest
winners will be selected during the week of Aug. 12, 2004. Full
contest details and rules are available by logging in at:
http://www.pioneer.com/growingpoint. A user name and
password are required for first-time users and may be obtained
from your hometown Pioneer representative.
