Pioneer expands crop protection financing choices
Des Moines, Iowa
November 20, 2003

New product additions to the 2004 TruChoice® Opportunity Program include corn rootworm insecticides

Six more crop protection products, including corn rootworm insecticides, have been added to those eligible for special financing at competitive interest rates from PHI Financial Services, Inc., through the 2004 TruChoice® Opportunity Program, offered by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., to growers in the United States.

Aztec1 2.1G insecticide, Balance1 PRO herbicide, Callisto2 herbicide, Capture3 insecticide, Liberty1 herbicide and Liberty1 ATZ herbicide round out the new selection of products available for financing with attractive interest rates.

"The lineup of products was expanded to deliver enhanced value to customers and provide them with additional choices,” says Kevin Diehl, corn crop protection marketing manager for Pioneer in Johnston, Iowa.  “These products, along with more than 40 other crop protection products that have already been approved for the TruChoice program, give growers a wide range of crop protection products available for financing."

The TruChoice program allows growers to combine their seed and crop protection purchases for financing at competitive interest rates.  Customers who purchased Pioneer® brand seed during the PreSeason or EarlySeason Rewards program can finance crop protection products using the same low interest rate they locked in for their seed purchase.

"The options provided by the TruChoice program are designed to meet the varied crop protection needs of individual growers,” says Diehl.  “For example, soil insecticides provide growers the ability to protect their crops against corn rootworm and other labeled pests in corn.  We've also included Liberty and Liberty ATZ herbicides to complement programs that include seed with the LibertyLink1 trait."

Growers should contact their local Pioneer sales professional or local crop protection retailer to discuss the options available and to review the entire list of crop protection products eligible for financing through the TruChoice program. Growers can also log onto www.pioneer.com for more information.
