DATA Technologies launches new, industry-leading counting and packing solution

DATA Technologies has been raising the standard of counting technologies for several years now with its ground-breaking, automated solutions that enable seed manufacturers and nurseries to count seeds by exact numbers, rather than weight. The company’s latest solution combines counting with packing, and is likely to revolutionize the way in which seeds will be handled now and in the future.
The idea of combining DATA’s counting solution with additional functionality to create a counting and packing solution was first introduced during a successful trial at the Zeraim Gadera (Syngenta Israel), a leading seed manufacturing corporation in Israel. For this project, DATA supplied its DATA Count S 660 counting solution integrated with the best-of-breed Pack Line automatic packaging system. By the time the project was completed, both companies realized that combining both counting and packing technologies offered a unique solution with tremendous potential for the entire industry.
“After seeing the machine in action, both companies understood the great potential in this unique solution and worked to develop a compact packaging solution that can serve even the smallest seed company,” explains Yuval Lichi, DATA’s CEO.
The DATA Count & Pack S 60 is fast, accurate, and easy-to-operate. Because it is an automated solution, it saves labor costs and is the most compact packaging solution for packing seeds by specified numbers available on the market. The combined solution measures only 70 cm (width) x 80 cm (depth) x 205 cm (height) and can count and pack up to 14 bags of 1,000 tomato/pepper seeds per minute. It can count and pack any size seed from 1 mm to 25 mm.
DATA technologies counting systems and packaging solutions are well known in the diamond and jewelry industry. In the first quarter of 2009, when a downturn in the economy adversely affected the diamond and gem stone industry, the company began looking for other industries that would benefit from its existing counting technology.
Located in Israel, DATA Technologies quickly identified the seed industry as one that would benefit significantly from the introduction of its solutions and so DATA began marketing its advanced counting solutions to leading seed manufacturers globally.
