Jay Hulbert named to Operations VP post at Seminis
Saticoy, California
December 7, 1999

Seminis has appointed Jay Hulbert vice president and general manager, operations, responsible for production, processing, quality and information technology for the company's worldwide business.

Hulbert, a veteran of the seed industry, most recently served as vice president of strategic planning for Seminis, a position in which he largely focused on optimizing and integrating production, processing, quality and information technology. He has also served as vice president of North America sales for the company and held several executive management positions within Petoseed, now a Seminis brand.

"Jay has played a key management role in Seminis since its formation,'' said Alfonso Romo Garza, chairman and CEO. "He brings a broad base of knowledge and experience in the seed industry to his new role. In the newly created position of vice president and general manager of operations, he will lead our efforts to provide our customers with a consistent, high quality supply of vegetable and fruit seed.''

Hulbert will continue to be based at the company's worldwide headquarters in Saticoy, California.

Seminis is the largest developer, producer and marketer of vegetable seeds in the world. The company uses seeds as the delivery vehicle for innovative agricultural technology.
