Cordova, Illinois
January 26, 1999Golden Harvest continues to
expand its facilities in order to keep pace with its market share growth.
Most recently, a 6,720 square foot office building was constructed at Cordova, Ill. Bill
Werner, Golden Harvest president, says this expansion gives Golden Harvest employees a
renewed pride in their jobs.
"It's a new atmosphere," Werner says. "We have more room, and the people
have the opportunity to be more productive working in this facility. Our customers will
see improvements because of
our expanded training center. Our dealers, and ultimately our customers, will benefit from
the additional training we can now provide.
"Because of our independent structure, we can reinvest profits to expand customer
service capabilities. This, and other Golden Harvest expansion, is an investment that
allows us to continue providing outstanding service to our loyal customers."
Over the past five years Golden Harvest has expanded facilities to improve genetics,
research and customer service. This expansion has allowed Golden Harvest to rank among the
top five seed companies in the United States in market share. Numerous breeding stations,
research facilities and winter nursery sites throughout the United States, Puerto Rico,
South America and Europe were added. It has also expanded its domestic marketing
territories, as well as adding new sales territories in Canada, Argentina and Europe. A
$6.5 million seed-processing facility was recently dedicated in Waterloo, Neb.
The Golden Harvest brand of hybrid corn, soybeans, sorghum and alfalfa is produced and
marketed by five family-owned and managed seed companies serving farmers throughout the
U.S.
Corn Belt, Europe, South America and Canada. These five companies share research and
marketing resources nationally, while continuing to offer the nearby service that is the
heart of the
seed industry.
