Slater, Iowa
January 5, 1999With 1999 making a
"roaring" entrance across much of the country, Garst Seed Company officials have extended an
"early order" cash discount deadline from January 5 to January 15, 1999.
"With a huge section of the Corn Belt under attack from Old Man Winter, we decided to
extend a key discount order date for our customers," says Dan Burdett, National Sales
Manager for Garst Seed Company. "We heard of many rural areas and small towns being
completely shut-down due to the last weekend's blizzard. And with so many of our customers
and Sales Representatives depending on rural mail service to place their seed order,
extending the deadline is simply the right thing to do."
The extended date, now January 15, makes it possible for Garst customers to take advantage
of up to a 7% cash discount on their 1999 seed purchase. "By that time, we certainly
hope that life will be back to normal for our customers and sales reps across the Corn
Belt," notes Burdett.
Burdett also notes that for 1999, Garst customers now have four different means of
financing their seed purchases through Garst. The Garst Gold Plan, Farm Pro, Ag Services
of America and the latest financial service, Ag Smart. Highlights of Garst's own Gold Plan
includes:
- First year customers pay just 10% of total seed purchase at
order.
- Second year and beyond Gold Plan customers in good standing
pay 0% down at order.
- May 1, 1999 application deadline.
- Interest rate of 12%.
- Interest starts June 1, 1999 on unpaid balance.
- ALL interest charges forgiven on accounts paid IN FULL by
November 15, 1999.
- Customers must purchase at least $4,000.00 (gross retail
dollar value) worth of Garst seed or be a 100% Garst Seed Company customer.
