PICKSEED Canada Inc. is
pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Craig, P. Ag to the
position of Vice-President – Eastern Canada Agricultural
Sales.
This new position will embrace all PICKSEED activities in
Eastern Canada involving PICKSEED and Mapleseed products sold
through the PICKSEED Sales Agent network and the Mapleseed
dealer organization of Farm Retail Supply outlets.
PICKSEED is a leader in the development, production and
distribution of leading edge varieties of forage crops and
on-farm use silage and grain corn hybrids. Leading products are
sold through a team of Sales Agents who work with a professional
agronomic team specializing in forage production and maximizing
corn utilization as on-farm feed.
Mapleseed is an active supplier to retail farm supply outlets
with a range of forage crop seeds covering the broad needs of
this diverse market. The Mapleseed division is a successor to
the Forage Seed Department of Maple Leaf Mills, purchased by
PICKSEED in 1981. This company traces to the Hogg & Lytle Seed
Co. - the oldest continually operating seed business in Canada.
Peter Craig has been employed with PICKSEED since 1987,
holding a broad range of positions with progressive
responsibility. His most recent position has been Manager of the
Mapleseed division, a job he has performed with distinction.
Peter has served as chair of the Forage and Turfgrass Committee
of the Canadian Seed Trade Association and serves PICKSEED as a
regular delegate to Association meetings. He is also a founding
member of the Ontario Forage Council.
Peter is a graduate of the engineering department of the
Ontario Agricultural College at Guelph. He was raised on a mixed
farm in Central Ontario. Presently, Peter and his wife Jan,
along with their three children, share a Dunsford, Ontario farm
with a thriving flock of sheep.
