Slater, Iowa
January 28, 2008
With the help of
Garst brand corn hybrids,
25 U.S. farmers were recently named state winners in the 2007
National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Corn Yield Contest.
Each year the NCGA Corn Yield Contest ranks the highest yielding
corn at both the state and national levels. Growers compete in a
number of production categories and classes, including
non-irrigated, no till/strip till non-irrigated, no till/strip
till irrigated, ridge till non-irrigated, ridge till irrigated,
and irrigated. Growers in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa,
Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin compete in Class AA
categories, while all other states compete in Class A
categories.
The results of the NCGA Corn Yield Contest each year are the
perfect way to celebrate the end of another successful growing
season with Garst corn hybrids, said Rick Henley, corn crop
manager for Garst. We congratulate all the Garst customers who
placed in this years yield competition. Garst will continue to
deliver high-performing hybrids, as well as the technical and
agronomic support growers need to increase their yields and
on-farm profits.
Henley added that Garsts 2008 hybrid lineup features many
exciting products with Syngentas Agrisure traits, which provide
growers more weed management and insect control options.
