Garst Seed Company recently added two new members to its agronomy team. Mitch Christensen of Ames will serve as a Garst area agronomist for growers in northeastern Iowa, while Kevin Hulsebus of Atkins will serve growers in the east and southeastern portion of the state.

Christensen and Hulsebus will provide agronomic expertise, technical support and product information to growers in their territories.

"Both Mitch and Kevin have extensive knowledge of Garst seed products and Iowa agriculture, making them valuable new additions to our team," said Jim Bueltel, agronomy services manager for Garst. "Mitch has a sound understanding of crop production and an impressive background in farm management that will be a real benefit to growers. Kevin has proven himself a trusted source of information for farmers in eastern Iowa and his interest in technology helps keep Garst customers informed about the latest advancements. Our skilled agronomists are a key factor in fulfilling Garst's continuing mission to provide growers with information and technology that helps them succeed."

Christensen rejoins the Garst team after working as a production manager for Syngenta, the parent company of Garst. He began his agronomy career at Cedar Johnson Farm Service in Mechanicsville, Iowa. Christensen graduated from Iowa State University with a major in agriculture business and a minor in agronomy.

Hulsebus was named to area agronomist after serving as a Garst district sales manager for seven years in eastern Iowa. Prior to that, he was a sales representative with American Cyanamid for 12 years.
