Brand Seeds announces the addition of corn hybrids with
Herculex™ I Insect Protection for the 2007 growing season. The
six new hybrids offer customers a technology solution for
Western bean cutworm and black cutworm in areas where these
insects have historically exceeded economic thresholds. For
additional early season insect and disease protection, all NK
Brand hybrids are treated with Cruiser Extreme® 250.
“The introduction of NK Brand corn hybrids with Herculex I
technology means season-long protection for higher yields and
better returns in those geographies where cutworms have been a
challenge year after year,” says Marshall Kostiuk, NK Brand corn
marketing manager. “We recommend that growers choose hybrids by
focusing first on the genetics that best fit their farm and then
considering traits and technologies that will help them manage
specific production challenges.”
The six new hybrids feature proven genetics for top performance
and range in maturity from 103 to 113 days.
“As part of the broad NK Brand portfolio of corn hybrids,
Herculex I hybrids are eligible for all NK Brand grower
programs,” Kostiuk adds. “In addition, these hybrids are
eligible for AgriEdge™ weed management programs from Syngenta.
The AgriEdge programs provide growers with a comprehensive
assurance package, flexible agronomic tools and rewards, and
protection from planting to harvest.
“These new Herculex I hybrids complement the NK Brand hybrids
with Agrisure™ traits for insect control and weed management
options providing a better return on every acre for our
customers,” concludes Kostiuk.
