Syngenta today opened a technology center and broke ground for an additional production plant at its Gramoxone® facility in Nantong, Province of Jiangsu, PRC.

The new technology center in China has been established to provide technical support for additional local production and global sourcing. The 1600 square meter facility has four advanced laboratories for analysis and process development.

On the same site, the company also broke ground for a new manufacturing facility to meet growing demand for its modern insecticide portfolio. This is expected to become operational by mid 2007.

Participating in the opening ceremony, John Atkin, COO, Syngenta Crop Protection said: “These latest two projects at our Nantong site will significantly expand our capability to manufacture cost-competitive products that meet the highest standards. They will further strengthen our position in the growing Asian market”.

The Syngenta Nantong site was established in 1998 and is one of the largest agrochemical facilities in China. Since its opening in 2001, the site was granted numerous awards for safety, environmental performance and technology.

Syngenta setzt mit Produktionsausbau in China auf Asien-Wachstum

Syngenta eröffnete heute ein neues Technologiezentrum und legte den Grundstein für eine weitere Produktionsanlage im Graxomone®-Werk Nantong in der chinesischen Provinz Jiangsu.

Das neue chinesische Technologiezentrum bietet technische Unterstützung für zusätzliche Produktionsstätten und für die weltweite Beschaffung. Zu der 1'600 Quadratmeter grossen Anlage gehören vier hochmoderne Laboratorien für Analytik und Verfahrenstechnik.

Das Unternehmen wird zudem mit einer neuen Produktionsstätte am gleichen Standort der wachsenden Nachfrage nach dem modernen Syngenta Insektizidportfolio Rechnung tragen. Das neue Werk wird seinen Betrieb voraussichtlich Mitte 2007 aufnehmen.

John Atkin, COO von Syngenta Crop Protection, erklärte bei der Eröffnungsfeier: „Mit unseren beiden jüngsten Projekten am Standort Nantong können wir unsere Kapazitäten zur Herstellung wettbewerbsfähiger Produkte in höchster Qualität erheblich ausweiten. Sie werden unsere Position im wachsenden asiatischen Markt weiter stärken“.

Syngenta ist seit 1998 am Standort Nantong, eine der grössten agrochemischen Einrichtungen in China, aktiv. Seit der Eröffnung im Jahr 2001 erhielt dieser Standort eine ganze Reihe von Auszeichnungen für Sicherheit, Umweltfreundlichkeit und Technologie.

Syngenta a inauguré aujourd’hui un nouveau centre de technologie et posé la première pierre d´une usine supplémentaire sur son site de production de Gramoxone® à Nantong, dans la province du Jiangsu, en République Populaire de Chine.

Ce nouveau centre de technologie a pour objet d’apporter un soutien technique pour la production locale et l’approvisionnement mondial. Quatre laboratoires de dernière génération s´étendent sur 1600 m2 pour conduire des travaux d´analyse et de développement des procédés.

Sur le même site, l´entreprise a également lancé la construction d´une nouvelle unité de production destinée à satisfaire la demande grandissante pour sa gamme d´insecticides modernes. Cette usine devrait être opérationnelle mi-2007.

Lors de la cérémonie d´inauguration, John Atkin, COO de Syngenta Crop Protection, a déclaré : « Ces deux derniers projets sur notre site de Nantong permettront d’augmenter considérablement notre capacité à délivrer des produits à la fois concurrentiels et conformes aux standards les plus élevés. Ils renforceront notre position sur le marché asiatique en pleine expansion ».

Le site Syngenta de Nantong, lancé en 1998, est l´un des complexes de production agrochimique les plus importants de Chine. Depuis son ouverture en 2001, le site a obtenu de nombreux prix en matière de sécurité, d’environnement et de technologie.
