Take home message
- Eleven new
varieties/hybrids will be marketed in NSW in 2006; 39
available in total
- Variety selection process
could be narrowed to 2-3 varieties in each herbicide
category
- Variety selection should
be based on longer-term data where available. New varieties
with only one year's independent data can be tried in
conjunction with proven varieties.
- Biodiesel is not an
immediate marketing alternative for canola growers
- Juncea canola offers some
potential for the drier western areas only, but not until
2008
New Varieties
Eleven new varieties will be
marketed in NSW in 2006. These comprise six conventional, three
triazine tolerant and two CLEARFIELD®.
