The Plant
Management Network (PMN), an innovative website designed for
plant and agricultural professionals, is pleased to welcome
Mississippi State University as a new university partner.
“The Plant Management Network provides information in many
diverse disciplines of agriculture as well as research
supporting new, innovative approaches that ultimately benefit
our producers,” said Maria Tomaso- Peterson, Assistant Research
Professor in Plant Pathology at Mississippi State University.
“As an on- line resource, PMN is readily available to
Mississippi State University's extension agents, researchers,
instructors, and students, providing access to up-to- date and
timely research results,” added Peterson.
The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology and the
Integrated Pest Management program through Mississippi State
University Extension Service support the PMN Partnership.
Mississippi State University's Department of Entomology and
Plant Pathology offers graduate programs leading to the Master
of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The department also
jointly sponsors a Master of Agriculture degree in Agricultural
Pest Management with the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences.
The department participates in an interdisciplinary genetics and
animal physiology graduate program. The Mississippi State
University Extension Service provides research-based
information, educational programs, and technology transfer
focused on issues and needs of the people of Mississippi,
enabling them to make informed decisions about their economic,
social, and cultural well-being.
