Syngenta announced today that it has received Administrative Protection for its chemical compound mesotrione from the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission. The protection gives Syngenta exclusive rights to manufacture and sell mesotrione in China. Mesotrione is the active ingredient in the fast growing CALLISTO® range, a market leader in corn herbicides, launched in 2001.

Administrative Protection is a transitional intellectual property right granted consistent with China’s obligations under the World Trade Organization’s agreement on intellectual property (TRIPS). It was introduced in China in 1992 and enables protection of agrochemical compounds which were previously unpatentable. Syngenta currently has nine compounds under Administrative Protection in China.

Administrativer Schutz ist ein provisorisches Recht auf geistiges Eigentum, das gemäss Chinas Verpflichtungen aus dem Vertrag der Welthandelsorganisation WTO über geistige Eigentumsrechte (TRIPS) gewährt wird. Er wurde 1992 eingeführt und ermöglicht den Schutz zuvor nicht patentierbarer agrochemischer Substanzen. Syngenta geniesst zur Zeit in China administrativen Schutz für insgesamt neun Aktivsubstanzen.

Syngenta obtient une protection de sa propriété intellectuelle pour un herbicide du maïs en Chine

Syngenta a annoncé aujourd’hui qu’il avait obtenu de la part de la commission nationale chinoise du développement et des réformes une «Protection Administrative» pour son composé chimique mesotrione. Cette protection octroie à Syngenta les droits exclusifs de fabrication et de vente du mesotrione en Chine. Le mesotrione est la substance active présente dans les produits de la gamme CALLISTO®, un des leaders du marché dans le domaine des herbicides du maïs, qui connaît aujourd’hui un plein essor suite à son lancement en 2001.

La Protection Administrative est un droit de propriété intellectuelle transitoire, octroyé conformément aux obligations de la Chine dans le cadre de l’accord de l’Organisation Mondiale du Commerce sur la propriété intellectuelle (TRIPS). Introduite en Chine en 1992, elle permet de protéger des composés agrochimiques qui étaient jusque-là non brevetables. Actuellement, neuf composés appartenant à Syngenta bénéficient de cette Protection Administrative en Chine.
