Garst Seed Company
recently named Jenny Mennenga and Kevin Scholl as area
agronomists in Illinois.
Mennenga
will be responsible for providing agronomic expertise and
product information to growers throughout central Illinois. She
will be based in LeRoy, Ill.
Prior to joining Garst, Mennenga was an agronomist specializing
in soybean production management operations for Pioneer Hi-Bred
International, Inc. in Illinois. Before this, she was a sales
representative with BASF, specializing in the CLEARFIELD*
Production System.
Mennenga held various teaching assistant and intern positions
while attending Iowa State University where she earned
bachelor’s degrees in both agronomy and seed science. She is a
certified crop adviser (CCA).
Scholl
will provide agronomic expertise and product information to
growers in western Illinois. He will be based in Wyoming, Ill.
Scholl comes to Garst from Alvey Agricultural Research where he
was a field scientist specializing in conducting research
protocols for field trials and providing technical support for
crop scouting programs. Prior to that, Scholl was a consulting
agronomist for Mowers Soil Testing PLUS, Inc. and CropWatch,
Inc. in Toulon, Ill., where he consulted with growers on pest
management strategies, soil fertility issues and variable rate
technology applications of fertilizer and limestone.
Scholl earned a master’s in crop science and a bachelor’s
degree in agriculture from the University of Illinois. He also
is a CCA.
“Both Jenny and Kevin come to Garst with an extensive
agricultural background and expertise in production agriculture
that will prove valuable to growers in their respective
territories,” says John Pieper, eastern agronomy services
manager for Garst.
