Garst Seed Company promotes Glen Edwards to head of sales for the western region of the United States

Garst Seed Company recently announced the promotion of Glen Edwards (photo) to head of sales for the western region of the United States. Edwards will work from Garst’s brand headquarters in Slater, Iowa.

“Glen Edwards has held positions of increasing responsibility within Garst and in each of his jobs he has exceeded our performance expectations,” says David Witherspoon, brand head for Garst. “Glen’s experience in agronomy and sales has been a tremendous asset to the company and our customers. His background and experience will be invaluable in leading the western sales region.”             

As the head of sales, Edwards will be responsible for overseeing and leading the western sales team in increasing sales and profitability.

Edwards joined Garst in 1993 as an area agronomist and was promoted to regional sales manager in 1997.  During his 12-year career at Garst, Edwards has received various honors, including being named the company’s area agronomist of the year in 1995.

Prior to joining Garst, Edwards held district sales manager positions for Asgrow Seed Company and Northrup King Seed Company. Edwards earned his bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Kansas State University.
