Garst
Seed Company recently announced the promotion of Scott Hart
(photo) as the company’s corn product manager. Hart was
previously the soybean and sunflower product manager. He will
retain his responsibilities as sunflower product manager.
As the new corn product manager, Hart will focus much of his
efforts on providing leading corn products and programs to
customers and building the Garst brand name.
Hart joined the company in 1993 as an area agronomist in Iowa.
In 2001, he was promoted to soybean and sunflower product
manager and played an integral role in helping Garst
significantly increase its soybean sales.
“Scott has a proven track record in sales and market
development,” says Steve Klein, head of Garst’s marketing. “His
experience in growing Garst’s soybean and sunflower market share
is a testament to his success as a product manager. It will be a
great benefit to Garst to tap into his expertise in promoting
our corn lineup.”
Prior to joining Garst, Hart worked in corn production research
in Iowa for Pioneer Hi-Bred International. He later was named
sunflower production agronomist in California where he directed
the company’s West Coast sunflower production, coordinating both
domestic and international sunflower seed efforts.
Hart is a graduate of Iowa State University where he earned a
degree in agronomy. He is both a Certified Professional
Agronomist (CPAg) and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA).
