JC Robinson Seeds sales representative named National Outstanding Young Farmers for 2004
March 25, 2004

JC Robinson Seeds Sales Representative, Brad Williams and his wife, Amy, of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, were named National Outstanding Young Farmers for 2004.  The award is presented annually by the United States Jaycees and John Deere.

Brad said the mid-February award was “alarming.”  Twenty-five farmers or farming couples were selected throughout the United States as national finalists and the Williams met them all during the four day conference in San Antonio.  Compared to some of the others, “it seemed like we were just a simple operation,” said Brad.    JC Robinson Seeds District Sales Manager, Dale Kanning  said, "It may have been alarming to Brad, but it certainly was no surprise to those of us that have the pleasure to work closely with him.  Brad and Amy are extremely deserving of this award!"

Winners were selected on the basis of their understanding of all aspects of the business, from the tractors they drive to the computers they use in their offices.  Their efforts to become more efficient and technological, while still conserving the environment, also are considered in the judging

Keeping up with rapidly changing technology is a major part of farming today, said Brad.  For us, it has meant gradually increasing our number of no-tilled acres during the past 16 years.  In 2003, the couple used no-till on 65 percent of the 2,015 acres they farm.  This year, Brad says they will be increasing that to 80 or 85 percent,”

Brad is not the first producer in his family to be recognized for his farming practices.  His father, Jim Williams, was honored as a state-level Outstanding Farmer in 1972.

We at JC Robinson are proud to have such an outstanding leader as Brad to  represent our brand in his community.  We are extremely pleased with Brad and Amy’s accomplishments and celebrate their well deserved recognition.
