Robert Prince recently joined
Garst Seed
Company as an area agronomist. Prince will provide
technical field support and agronomic expertise to producers
throughout Louisiana and eastern Texas in this new position
created by Garst.
Prince brings extensive experience in agronomy and sales. Most
recently, he was a regional agronomist for United Agri Products’
Dyna Gro Seeds. Prior to this, Prince spent 17 years as a
salesman and technical consultant for the Farm Chemical Group
and United Agri Products.
“Robert has tremendous knowledge of corn, cotton, soybean and
grain sorghum production in the south and southwest regions of
the United States,” says Steve Klein, director of sales and
marketing for Garst. “This expertise, in addition to his
knowledge of the herbicide and insecticide industries, makes him
an important addition to the Garst agronomy team and a great
asset to customers.”
Mike Smidt, national sales manager for Garst, adds “we’ve seen

Robert brings the right mix of knowledge and experience to
deliver these in this newly created position.”
Prince received his master’s degree in plant pathology and crop
physiology from Louisiana State University. He received his
bachelor’s degree in animal science from Louisiana Tech
University.
