Neil Arbuckle
of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been elected President of the
Canadian Seed
Trade Association
(CSTA) for 2004-2005. His election occurred at CSTA’s 81st
annual meeting, held recently in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Neil is the Manager of Agricore United’s seed
business with proprietary seed products marketed under the
Proven Seed brand. Proven Seed is a leading seed brand that
provides western Canadian producers with access to industry
leading genetics in a broad range of crops such as canola,
linolaä, forages, wheat, oats and malting barley.
Arbuckle
has been active in the seed industry since 1990 and has been a
director on the CSTA Board since 1999. He joined the Proven
Seed team in the early 1990’s, and became manager in 1997. He
has actively participated in several of the committees of the
CSTA including the Variety Name Preservation Workgroup, the
Communications Committee, and the Oilseeds, Pulses and Western
Cereals Committee. He also represents the CSTA at the Cereal
Value Chain Roundtable discussions.
Neil holds
a Masters in Business Administration from Queen’s University and
a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of
Manitoba.
Neil, his
wife Corie, and their three sons reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Headquartered in the nation’s capital, the CSTA
represents the interests of 170 corporate members engaged in all
aspects of seed research, production and marketing, both
domestically and internationally. |
