NC+ Hybrids has three national winners in Sorghum Yield Contest

Three NC+ Hybrids growers received top honors in the 2003 National Grain Sorghum Yield and Management Contest. 

Capturing second-place in the national No-Till Non-Irrigated Division were James and Dana Born of Ochiltree County, Texas.  Their entry of NC+ 6B50 averaged 127.58 bushels per acre, 89 bushels over the county average. 

Another national second-place winner was TD Farms of Baca County, Colorado.  Their entry of NC+ Y363 was second in the Conventional-Till Irrigated category with a yield of 158.39 bushels per acre, 91 bushels over the county average.

Among all irrigated categories, the special food-grade sorghum award winner was 3M Farms, Inc., of Seward County, Kansas.  Their field of NC+ 7W92 turned out a yield of 152.82 bushels per acre, topping the county average by 61 bushels per acre.

NC+ entries also garnered several of the top state awards in the sorghum yield contest:

National and state winners will be recognized at an awards banquet during the 2004 Sorghum Industry Conference February 15-17 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
