USDA to promote organic products at food show in Germany
Washington, DC
October 24, 2003

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service invites companies to exhibit U.S. organic food products in the USA Pavilion at BIOFACH 2004 in Nuremberg, Germany, Feb. 19-22, 2004. BIOFACH, an annual event, is the largest organic food trade show in the world. Products exhibited at BIOFACH must be certified organic.

In 2003, the show welcomed 1,977 exhibitors and attracted 29,752 visitors from 99 countries. Visitors came from a wide spectrum of businesses and included wholesalers, retailers, producers, importers, exporters, and others. Some of the products featured in the USA Pavilion included dates, dried plums, fresh horticultural products, soybeans, sweets and baked goods.

There are two booth packages from which to choose -- a nine square meter walk-on booth package, or a three square meter workstation. The workstation is a special offer to introduce companies to BIOFACH. A company can participate in the workstation area only for two years before it is required to take a booth of its own.

For additional information about exhibiting at BIOFACH 2004 or for information about other USDA-supported trade shows and/or trade missions, contact Sharon Cook at 202-720-3425 (e-mail: sharon.cook@usda.gov).
