JC Robinson Seeds has
just completed the first season of a new financing pilot program
within the state of Nebraska – "Hometown Choices". Unlike most
other seed industry finance offerings, the Hometown Choices seed
financing program allows producers to receive competitively
discounted interest rates and support their local communities
when they finance their purchases of Golden Harvest®
brand seed from JC Robinson Seeds.
Guy Mockelman, program developer of Hometown Choices, says
"Many of our competitors are moving seed financing away from
local banks. Hometown Choices was designed to make seed
financing simple and completely unique to the seed industry
while supporting local producers and their communities. Our
interest is to redefine what a customer should expect from his
seed company". Mockelman went on to say "last year’s pilot
program in Nebraska included nearly 300 banks. Due to the
overwhelming success last year, we are now offering Hometown
Choices across all of JC Robinson Seeds marketing area. The new
sales season started August 1st and currently we have
over 500 banks signed up and anticipate total participation of
roughly 1500 banks".
The discounted interest rate is only part of the growers’
benefits. Director of Marketing, Chuck Lee, was quick to point
out that the true advantage to JC Robinson Seeds customers is
the unique bundle that Hometown Choices offers. "First, you must
have sound genetics that are well adapted to your local area.
Along with the genetics, comes technology, and of course service
and discounts. Hometown Choices brings all of these vital seed
components together for our customers while allowing them to
support their local communities."
Hometown Choices is now widely available across much of the
western cornbelt. Details are available through local Golden
Harvest Dealers of JC Robinson Seeds.
