 New improved OnX
Lettuce
 New improved OnX
Lettuce, like our old OnX Lettuce product, is designed to meet
specific needs of the Grower. This product is almost exclusively used in new Vacuum Planting
equipment.
OnX provides a smooth, protective coating, which fills in rough
seed surfaces. This allows for improved
flowability and singulation
during planting operations. The weight gain of the old OnX was 1.5-2.5X where as the new
improved OnX is 3.5-4.0X.
The encrusted seeds
per pound has changed from approximately 175,000 seeds per pound for
the old OnX to approximately 135,000 seeds per pound.
New improved OnX Lettuce is slightly larger than
our old product. The larger size allows for better singulation
and better durability of the coating. In the vacuum planter the old
OnX had more pointed ends which allowed for more doubles and triples
to occur, with the new improved OnX, the singulation has improved
dramatically.
 This
new improved OnX Lettuce is available in seven colors:
- white
- blue
- green
- yellow
- red
- purple
- orange.
The colors allow for ease in seed identification, especially when
adding seed to "ten" different hoppers on a vacuum planting machine.
 OnX Lettuce is mostly
used in Mesclin Mix salad production.
Many
of these plantings involve high seed populations per acre, 2 million
plus.
An eighty-inch bed is planted with thirty lines of seed and each
seed is estimated to be 1".
 OnX is also available:
- with a thiram treatment
- with priming for both photo and thermodormancy.
