During these 4 years the business and product range of INCOTEC have evolved well and INCOTEC finds itself in a good position for continued strong growth.

The number of customers has grown steadily during these years and now reaches some 25 customers in Japan alone. In addition, a number of very special products have been developed to suit local horticulture while using the best of INCOTEC technologies worldwide.

Some of the very strong products which have proven very successful in the Japanese market (see table at right).

Close co-operation with customers is part of the INCOTEC concept where top quality and excellent service is demanded.

The Japanese market is undergoing considerable pressure from imported vegetables from the rest of Asia, Australia, USA and other producing countries.

INCOTEC�s technologies can contribute to a reduction of the production costs by allowing more automation and improving the quality of seedlings.

More cost effective product forms have good potential to contribute to a reduction of production costs.

The development of Asian horticulture

In South Korea the size of vegetable farms is relatively large which will lead to more mechanisation of sowing and planting of crops. Specialised seedling production centers are growing and will use the latest technology available.

In China the use of higher value seeds is increasing. Disease and pest control based on coating and seed technologies will make an important contribution.

In Southeast Asia the use of hybrid varieties seems to be increasing. Filmcoating provides the means to improve disease control and the image of seed. The production of transplants could take off in the near future.

India proves to be a market with a large potential where the use of scientific knowledge is very important. With the introduction of higher value insecticides and higher value seeds like hybrid rice seed, the potential for INCOTEC�s technologies will increase further.

Hybrid varieties of some crops like white cabbage have become commodities. Utilising unique coating or pelleting technologies will allow seed companies to add more value for growers.

INCOTEC is able to adapt its technologies and business practices to the needs and demands of this region. For many crops like vegetable crops, but also in flowers, tobacco and agronomic crops INCOTEC has a very broad range of different products and technologies, making us the leading company in our field

The experiences gained in Japan, India, Korea and Asian countries form a solid basis for INCOTEC to utilise the opportunities in other East Asian markets like among others Korea, China, Taiwan and Thailand.

INCOTEC has several research programs running to develop unique technologies and products specially suited for the Asian Pacific market.
