2003 marks the 65th anniversary of Semillas Berentsen.

The company has come a long way since its founder, Mr. Antonio Berentsen de Winter, started it in 1939. It has been an important factor in the progress which Mexico has achieved in the agricultural sector during these years and has played an active role in the development of an organized seed industry within Mexico.

Three generations of Berentsens have played a role in the success of this company which, today, is still 100% Mexican owned and 100% privately owned by the founder's family. Semillas Berentsen competes on a global scale, turning over $5.5 million USD per year and employing over 100 people. This can not be said of many Mexican seed companies these days.
