Production
Klein Karoo Seed Personnel specializes in
multiplication of vegetable and field crop seeds.
We are not involved in marketing breeding
or any other activity except production for our clients in
RSA and international. All our services are production
related.
SEED MULTIPLICATION UNDER CONTRACT
Excepting contracts from our clients
according to volume, price and quality as demanded.
We allocate the production contracts to
selected growers in areas suitable to the specific crops.
Through research and trial productions in South Africa we
have a wide range of climatologic zones for the production
of the widest range of products possible.
Topographical data of our production
areas: Latitude 25°- 35° South
Altitude vary from 100m to 1500m above sea level
Temperatures:
Warm Areas: + 1°C to + 35°C
Cool Areas: - 7°C to + 29°C
 PRODUCTION
FIELD OPERATIONS
We have a team of crop specialists
supporting our growers with technical advice concerning all
aspects of production such as the selection of:
Best soil types.
The right procedures for irrigation,
fertilizing, integrated pest management, pollination as well
as the correct harvesting methods.
Our team is also qualified (bee keepers)
to support and manage this very important fase of
production.
UP TO DATE REPORTING
Up to date reporting by our production
team is entered into an integrated computer system on a
regular basis which will supply our clients with digital
photographs and crop status reports of all their production
fields, expected yields will be updated at the time of each
inspection.
For each production topographic and
meteorological information will include: altitude, latitude,
longitude and long term weather data.
 PRODUCTION
RESEARCH AND TRIAL FACILITY
We have own production research and trial
field facilities. This is done in local and remote locations
to test varieties under all available conditions. Our
research and development department will only release new
varieties once the viability for seed production is proved.
SEED CLEANING AND PACKAGING FACILITIES
Our on site seed cleaning and packaging
facilities are equipped with the best and latest seed
cleaning equipment and technology available. The processing
is monitored and controlled by a state of the art seed
tracking computer system to guarantee the integrity of all
seed lots in the cleaning factory.
All personnel are well trained and
experienced in the trade of seed cleaning. Entrance to the
facility is controlled and security is maintained at a very
high level. |
