In a move consistent with the CropLife Europe commitment to make closed transfer systems (CTS) universally available to European farmers and operators by 2030, Bayer has joined the cross-industry group developing the easyconnect closed transfer system. Together with ADAMA, BASF, Belchim Crop Protection, Certis Europe, Corteva Agriscience, FMC Corporation, Nufarm, Rovensa Group and Syngenta, Bayer will bring the easyconnect system to the market, providing a compelling solution that is fast, safe and convenient for farmers and operators in Europe. At the same time, Bayer will continue to support implementation of closed transfer systems via commercially available solutions.

“The easyconnect Working Group is pleased to welcome Bayer amongst its members and values the contribution that its support for the easyconnect system will make towards achieving the goal of universal access to closed transfer systems in Europe,” explained Louise Brinkworth, Stewardship Leader EMEA, Corteva Agriscience, and chair of the easyconnect CTS Working Group steering committee.

“Bayer is committed to promoting the implementation of CTS to further improve operator safety and environmental protection during the mixing, loading, and container rinsing phase of crop protection product use. In line with this commitment, Bayer has been promoting CTS since 2014. To provide even more flexibility for farmers, Bayer is glad to join the industry Working Group “easyconnect” with the aim of leveraging the benefits of that solution,” explained Fabrice Houdebert, Head of Regional Marketing EMEA at Bayer.

The first market launch is expected in Denmark and the Netherlands in 2022, followed by France, Germany and the United Kingdom in 2023. Other countries are likely to follow.

The easyconnect system is an open technology that is available to all interested agricultural parties. Further industry players in the agrochemical sector, equipment manufacturers or any other parties interested in joining the launch of easyconnect are encouraged to contact any of the member companies.
