The passing of Context Network Partner, Blake Sieker

Blake Sieker, Context Network Managing Partner unexpectedly passed away at his home in Castle Pines Village, Colorado, January 14, 2014.

Sieker served as Context’s Managing Partner since 2006. He joined the firm in 1998. Throughout his three decades of agribusiness senior management and consulting experience, Sieker served agriculture companies with ardent dedication, helping organizations clearly understand their financial position and the impact financial decisions and processes have on alternative business strategies and performance. His focused work in the seed industry helped many companies and executives advance toward better achieving their goals of feeding the world.

Context Founding Partner, Tray Thomas said, “Blake’s untimely passing is a shock to us all. It punctuates the importance of valuing our time together in business, as colleagues, as friends and families. Blake made significant contributions to Context’s clients and to the growth and well-being of our company. He will be greatly missed.”

Prior to joining Context, Sieker served as CFO and treasurer of Midwest Seed Genetics, Inc., Strategy Manager for Zeneca AgroBusiness Group, UK, and controller for Garst Seed Company.

Sieker is survived by his three children; Justin, Andrea and Jeremy, and his former wife, Mary.
