Director of Regulatory Affairs


 

BioConsortia is seeking a Director of Regulatory Affairs with excellent regulatory and scientific knowledge and a keen interest in bolstering the value of this innovative agricultural biotech company by securing product registrations in the USA and Brazil, as well as supporting partner registration activities globally, and ensuring compliance with product related regulations.  The ideal candidate will display outstanding research, analytical and communication skills and have a proven track record of successful registrations in USA or Brazil. You will help build and maintain a high value registration portfolio based on our current research and innovation. You will be managing a small team with opportunities for professional development and significant intellectual contribution.

Specifically, the Director of Regulatory Affairs will manage the regulatory obligations of the Company and work with the Business Development, Operations & Science teams to

  • Secure US EPA and state registrations of products, including preparation and compilation of registration dossiers and tox testing. 
  • Engage with the product development process, serving as the expert for regulatory milestones and requirements. 
  • Develop and advance the organizations policy and procedures for regulatory affairs and compliance to establish a compliant culture, including on-site compliance audits.
  • Timely apply for and ensure receipt of permits for the movement and release of soils, microbes and products.
  • Manage the regulatory affairs team of the Company.
  • Lead the registration process ensuring all stakeholders, internal and external, are engaged and deliver data and reports in a timely manner.  

The successful candidate will possess the following background and skills:

  • MS or BS degree in Biology, Microbiology, Toxicology or related sciences (essential).
  • A minimum of 8 years recent experience in agricultural product registration.
  • Good working knowledge of FIFRA regulations and guidelines.
  • Project management experience in crop protection/plant nutrition.
  • Proven people management and motivational competence.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Authorization to work in the USA long term (US citizen or permanent resident) required.

Salary range, depending on experience: $120,000 – 175,000 per annum, plus bonus, stock options and benefits.
