Role Purpose
Design and
manage all aspects of local agronomy and
technology field expo and training
demonstrations, working closely with Area
Agronomist, Research Center, and Supply
Management plant personnel
Typical Work
Activities
- Develop
protocols for Area and Business Unit (BU)
studies.
- Work with
Account Manager and Sales Rep to access test
environments and grower cooperators with
capability to address trial objectives
- Source and
prepare seed and other materials for field
studies
- Secure
planting, spraying, and harvest equipment
with grower cooperators and Research
collaborators
- Ensure
that treatments are applied and data is
collected according to protocols
- Conduct
field observations and collect images from
trials for use in presentations
- Analyze,
interpret, and develop appropriate summary
reports and presentations for local studies
- Present
agronomy research and information at local
field days, tours, and meetings as the
knowledge expert of local and BU agronomy
trials
Educational
Requirements

Field-research based Masters degree or
PhD degree preferred
Skills,
Knowledge, and Experience

Strong technical and practical
knowledge of new crop management
systems technology including factors
which influence decisions by
producers
-
Demonstrated knowledge of
environmental, regulatory and
product stewardship issues
Working knowledge of all aspects of
field experimentation (regulated
sites, small plot, large field
trials)

Capable of statistical analysis and
graphical presentation for simple
factorial trials

Understanding of yield monitors,
mapping systems, and spatial data.

Aptitude for and strong interest in
establishing visual, interactive
field demonstrations
