Role Purpose
Responsible
for the organization, scheduling and
directing of the company plant and warehouse
internal day-to-day operations
Typical Work
Activities
- Manages
warehouse operations including shipping and
receiving, packaging and treating, all areas
of seed processing, and quality control.
- Maintains
physical inventory of seed.
- Manages a
staff of supervisors to ensure that
warehouse operations are running smoothly.

Responsible for plant and facility safety
and physical security.
- Monitors
MSDS sheets and safety training for
warehouse personnel.
- Works with
safety coordinator to ensure compliance with
all safety regulations.

Responsible for scheduling warehouse
personnel and for ensuring proper staffing.
Schedules temporary contract labor when
necessary ensuring a productive and positive
labor climate in the warehouse operations.

Responsible for maintenance of warehouse
equipment, providing both preventative
maintenance programs and all necessary
repairs.
- Ensures
that warehouse personnel have safe and
efficient equipment.
- Generates
warehouse reports as required, accounts for
all labor hours, both direct and indirect
and adheres to budget requirements and works
towards obtaining objectives and division
goals.
- Interfaces
with Quality Assurance, Production, Sales,
Research, Finance and Administration, and
- Human
Resources departments to ensure
well-coordinated and efficient completion of
all activities pertinent to the warehouse
operations.
- Assist QA
Director in facilitating routine warehouse
and inventory activity in his absence.
- Manages
purchasing of equipment and supplies for the
department.
Educational
Requirements
- B.S.
degree in business, agriculture or
related discipline required
Skills,
Knowledge, and Experience
- A
minimum 6 years seed processing and
warehouse related experience
required
- A
minimum 4 years supervisory
experience required
