Role Purpose
Plans,
organizes, directs and controls the supply
chain functions of the company
Typical Work
Activities
- Plans,
directs, and controls the performance of all
Supply Chain activities

Establishes major objectives and policies
for the Supply Chain Department
- Provides
internal and external reports as required by
management as necessary for the smooth
operation of the company
- Reviews
and approves plans for the control of all
areas of Supply Chain including budget
spending, labor efficiency, material
efficiency, departmental effectiveness and
human utilization
- Develops
and recommends corporate supply chain policy
within the department’s functional areas
- Defines
and recommends objectives in each area of
Supply Chains. Develops specific short term
and long term plans and programs, together
with supporting budget requests and
financial estimates

Coordinates and collaborates with other
departments of the corporation in
establishing and carrying out
responsibilities
- Reviews
and approves major projects within the
department’s functional areas
Educational
Requirements
- B.S
degree in Business, manufacturing,
operations, supply chain or related
discipline
- M.B.A.
or M.S. highly desirable
Skills,
Knowledge, and Experience
-
APICS training and Certification
required
- A
minimum of 15 years experience,
ideally gained through increasingly
responsible management positions
within a seed production/quality
assurance environment.
- A
minimum of 10 year's upper
management experience ideally with
the responsibilities of a seed
production and/or quality assurance
department and/or inventory
management.
