Role Purpose
Plans,
organizes, directs and controls the
logistics functions of the company
Typical Work
Activities
- Plans,
directs, and controls the performance of all
inventory and logistics activities.

Establishes major objectives and policies
for the Logistics Department.
- Reviews
and approves plans for the control of all
areas of Logistics including budget
spending, labor efficiency, material
efficiency, departmental effectiveness and
human utilization.
- Recommends
and implements techniques to improve
productivity, increase efficiencies, cut
costs and maintain up-to-date Logistics
practices.

Coordinates activities of the logistics
areas with other company functions. Seeks
mutual agreement on problems involving
coordination.
- Prepares
operating plans where options exist for
production, shipment and inventory.
- Manages
and analyzes inventory levels and lot data
in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Generates
monthly reports and data outlining
problematic lots to review with Sales.
Educational
Requirements
- BA
degree in business or equivalent
experience required
Skills,
Knowledge, and Experience
- A
minimum of 10 year's management
experience ideally with the
responsibilities of a seed
production and/or quality assurance
department and/or inventory
management

Must have the ability and discipline
to interact professionally and
effectively with management and
fellow employees under
sometimes-stressful conditions
